Del Valle is located on the edge of Austin in Travis County, and is probably best known for its proximity to Austin-Bergstrom Airport, which was annexed by Austin in 1990. Del Valle was established in the 1870's, and was primarily a farming community with the primary crops being cotton and grains. The building of a Tesla factory in Del Valle in 2020 has given a large boost to the local economy, and Del Valle ISD.
